We will embark on our journey from Santiago at around 5:30 am, traveling along the renowned Los Caracoles road. Our first stop will be at Portillo and Laguna del Inca, two breathtaking locations nestled in the Chilean Andes, celebrated for their awe-inspiring natural beauty and vibrant outdoor activities.
Portillo, a prominent ski resort located in the Valparaíso Region, is approximately 160 kilometers from Santiago. Here, we’ll pause to explore the ski center and capture some memorable photos. This iconic site is recognized as one of the oldest ski resorts in South America and has hosted numerous prestigious international ski events.
Laguna del Inca is a mesmerizing lake with pristine, crystal-clear waters situated at an altitude of about 2,800 meters. Its name is derived from a local legend about Inca Roca, the Inca ruler, who grieved the loss of his son on this lagoon's shores. Enveloped by rugged mountains and snow-dusted peaks, the lagoon offers a striking and picturesque environment.
