Today, we invite you to embark on a one-of-a-kind natural adventure. Just 110 km from Santiago, lies a hidden natural paradise that awakens the senses and captivates the spirit. Nestled in the heart of the Andes Mountains, the El Morado National Natural Monument Park stands as a protected sanctuary. It embraces the enchanting Cajón del Río Morales and the surrounding majestic hills, highlighting the grandeur of the stunning Cerro El Morado, which, at 5,060 meters above sea level, lends its name to the park.
Our journey begins as we depart from Santiago at approximately 7:00 a.m., leaving behind the routine to venture into the unknown, where the splendor of nature awaits us. A mere 110 km from the city, we encounter the Cajón del Arenas. The route guides us through the awe-inspiring Cajón del Maipo, offering panoramic views of towering mountains and tranquil valleys.
Upon reaching this secluded corner of the Andes Mountains at around 10:00 a.m., we are enveloped by a breathtaking landscape. The Cajón del Arenas greets us with its trails, promising to unveil the secrets of nature.
After approximately 3.5 hours of trekking, we arrive at the crown jewel, the El Morado Glacier. Here, the majesty of the Glacier Lagoon and The Hanging Glacier of Morado awaits us in all their splendor, a spectacle of ancient ice cascading down, creating a magical and mystical atmosphere, as we savor a well-deserved and hearty box lunch amidst this glacial setting.
With our hearts brimming with wonder and memories, we begin our return to the starting point at 2:30 p.m. The descent allows us to reflect on the magnitude of the experience.
Upon returning to the starting point at 5:00 p.m., we indulge in a unique gastronomic experience. We relish platters featuring a variety of cheeses and hams, complemented by the exquisite flavors of a Chilean wine, celebrating the day in a relaxed atmosphere.
With our spirits full of gratitude and the flavors still vivid on our palates, we commence our journey back to Santiago at approximately 6:00 PM, carrying with us the magic of the Glaciar del Morado.
Optional:
After bidding farewell to the Morado Glacier, you have the option to include a stop at the enchanting "Baños de Colina Hot Springs" during the return journey at approximately 2:30 p.m. The contrast between the coolness of the mountains and the warmth of the hot springs promises a rejuvenating experience. Should you choose to add this relaxing option to the tour, an additional 2 hours will be included.
