Descripción del Tour:

Today, our adventure kicks off around 7:00 a.m. as we depart from your hotel in Santiago, heading towards the Aconcagua Valley, a stunning mountain basin approximately 90 km from the city.

Our journey takes us north to the charming rural town of Olmué. From there, we proceed to La Campana National Park, arriving around 9 AM. In the footsteps of Charles Darwin, who explored La Campana National Park in August 1834, we will discover this incredible site, recognized by UNESCO as a "World Biosphere Reserve". This designation helps protect its unique ecosystem, teeming with diverse native flora and fauna, alongside its local community. Some of the palm trees here are over 400 years old!

A primary goal of La Campana National Park is to conserve the Chilean Palm (Jubaea Chilensis), the southernmost palm species on Earth, now endangered due to excessive exploitation for palm honey production—a practice that began in colonial times as a substitute for sugarcane used in Central America and the Caribbean.

Following essential safety guidelines, we will embark on our trek to the summit of Cerro la Campana. We will navigate the 12-km round-trip La Cascada Trail to reach a viewpoint showcasing a 30-meter waterfall, lending the trail its name. This waterfall also serves as a stark reminder of the global climate changes we face today, yet it does not diminish the site's spectacular and unique beauty.

Upon returning to our starting point, we'll savor a delightful glass of Chilean wine and cheese to conclude our day of trekking through one of central Chile's most breathtaking landscapes.

In summary, trekking in La Campana National Park provides a rare chance to immerse yourself in Chile's natural wonders, explore a range of challenging trails, and take in awe-inspiring views from the peak of La Campana Hill.
